5 Star Customer Service
This was a letter that I had passed along to corporate as I feel the experience I had was amazing, though I also realize they employ truly special people at their restaurants based on the touching and amazing experiences on this website. I still would like to pass on my story of the amazing employees that I have encountered.
Hello, I wanted to share my experience with everyone because I truly feel the Davenport, IA store I visited should be recognized. I haven't stopped telling people about my experience and while everyone agrees with me that it is amazing, they always say they get nothing but the best when they visit the restaurant as well. I visited the restaurant on a very busy Friday evening in what seemed like a peak dinner rush time. Right before me two elderly disabled customers came in in wheelchairs with their two aides who also were elderly. As soon as they started coming in, the manager rushed out from behind the counter and assured them he would find a comfortable and easily accessible place for them to sit and led them to a close place right away. He sat them down and then immediately sent out a worker with a picture menu. Even as busy as it was, he spared a worker just so they could go to the table and take their order. I overheard this worker and she not only took their order, but took the time to explain the items and make sure that they completely understood what was on the menu and what they were ordering. She absolutely went above and beyond in making sure they would all be happy with the food that they would be ordering. I was so impressed with the customer service and care that they showed not only them, but everyone else in the restaurant. They make you feel like you are in a 4 star restaurant, when in reality you don't even get service like that in restaurants you pay so much more for. I'm embarrassed to admit, but it made me a little teary eyed observing the whole event just thinking how great they were and the fact that if these people were my grandparents that is exactly how I would want them to be treated.
Along with this happening, I was extremely impressed at the fact that the team members behind the counter were practically jumping to take your order, which is virtually unheard of going anywhere else to eat. The manager continued to impress me as he went out to the front of the restaurant while the team members were busy taking and filling orders and he was there, even in his nice clothes, cleaning up greasy tables, sweeping the floors, picking up trash, all the while cheerfully checking on each of the guests asking them how everything was and making sure everyone was completely satisfied. I felt awful because my daughter kept making a mess and he assured me that "it was no problem, that's what he's there for and he's happy to do it" as he had a small child as well.
I can honestly say, I have never seen management do this in any of the restaurants I have ever worked in or eaten at. I have worked in the restaurant business for 12 years and have never been impressed more than I was that night. I took my daughter to the play area, and a team member came in while we were there and was actually scrubbing the equipment on her hands and knees and extremely thoroughly. That definitely puts a parent at ease, knowing the health of the kids is so important too! I am not one to go out to eat too much, but after my experience this past week, I want to make a point to go to this restaurant as MUCH as possible!! I really appreciate all that the employees do to make sure you have a great experience. I can tell there is a lot of care and consideration that goes into hiring these great people! Thank you all for making my day and weekend. My only regret is that I wish I had gotten the names of the manager and employees, but there was only one manager in the front that I could tell and absolutely all of the employees that I saw were amazing.
