An Umbrella Of Kindness
It was the Saturday after Thanksgiving and we were dining inside for lunch with family that was visiting from California. A terrible rain storm came along while we were eating and we watched and waited for it to pass. While trying to wait out the storm, we watched Mario, an employee at the Missouri City, Texas location, usher customers to and from the restaurant to their cars with an umbrella, all the while getting soaked himself from all the rain.
Needing to take our guests to the airport we could no longer wait out the rain and Mario kindly moved from the side location he was working to the other entrance of the restaurant to help each member of our family (6 adults, 1 toddler, and an infant) with his umbrella to our van.
Since we dine at this restaurant once a week, I have always watched Mario provide service to Chick-fil-A guests with a smile and friendly, "thank you for allowing me to serve you". However, this one particular event compelled me to write to you to let you know that Mario is working with a "servant’s heart". I was touched to witness such commitment to serving others. Please thank him for me.
I have always enjoyed dining at the Missouri City location. All employees that work here are smiling and seem to enjoy their jobs - a rare sight in today's world. But Mario's actions that day touched my heart and now my family that lives in California hopes to make visiting this location a yearly tradition along with celebrating Thanksgiving.
