The Importance Of Chick-fil-A
Chick-fil-A, although just a fast food establishment, will always hold a special place in my heart. It may sound silly, but it's true.
Starting when I was only 1 1/2 years old, my dad and I would go to the mall every Saturday at 12pm. Our first stop was always Chick-fil-A. We absolutely loved eating at Chick-fil-A, and I always looked forward to my special Saturdays with Daddy, getting my delicious Chicken Nuggets and Waffle Fries, and an "Icedream". We enjoyed this routine until I was 20 years old. When I was 10, Chick-fil-A opened a free standing Restaurant close to where the mall was, so Daddy and I started going there at least twice a week. Plus, every Friday night when I was a teenager, I would go to the mall with a group of friends and we would all have Chick-fil-A for dinner.
My Dad was diagnosed with AML, and aggressive form of Leukemia, in July of 2007. He had to move to an area where there were no Chick-fil-A restaurants, and even as sick as he was, he drove an hour and a half to where I was living just to take me to Chick-fil-A; just like we did every week.
My Dad passed away in April of 2008. It was the hardest thing I have ever gone through. Now, I have a 3 year old of my own, and I’ve kept the tradition Daddy started with me, with him - and my son loves Chick-fil-A as much as I do. I even have a Chick-fil-A shirt that I make sure to wear every time I go there. I always get a compliment from Team Members and always make sure to let EVERYONE know how amazing the food is. I even got an "eat mor chikin" cow for free from the manager at my favorite Chick-fil-A restaurant for wearing my shirt and spreading the good Chick-fil-A name!
My dream job would be owning my own Chick-fil-A. My friends even make fun of me for how much I love eating at Chick-fil-A. They don't understand that Chick-fil-A holds a special place in my heart, thanks to Daddy taking me there all of my life. I'll always love Chick-fil-A--It's the greatest food in the world!!
