Sweet Tea To The Rescue
My daughter and I went to Kenwood Towne Centre in Cincinnati, OH on May 10, 2012 and we were shopping around and my daughter FINALLY told me she was hungry and I asked her what she wanted and she said, "Chick-fil-A" and of course I said yes :)
I want to thank you from the bottom on my heart for the unbelievable love and support your restaurants have provided my family over the last five years since my son Grier was diagnosed with cancer.
Grier, who is now eight years old, was about to undergo an intense, special radiation treatment at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). The morning of his treatment, I posted on my Facebook wall that I was stressed out and could really use a Chick-fil-A Sweet Tea to calm my nerves.
One of my good friends, Renee, saw my post and called up the Chick-fil-A restaurant at Liberty Place in Philadelphia to ask if they would surprise me by delivering my favorite beverage to the hospital.
Not only did the local Chick-fil-A employees show up with Sweet Tea, but they also brought with them 50 Chick-fil-A Sandwiches, lots of little Cows, PEZ dispensers and other fun treats to hand out to the doctors, nurses, families and children on the entire pediatric cancer floor at CHOP.
Through the years, we have experienced such sincere encouragement and support from the teams at the restaurant in Southpark Mall and the Cotswold Chick-fil-A restaurant in Charlotte, N.C., both of which have helped us to raise money for Cookies™ for Kids’ Cancer, a nonprofit that supports the development of new and better treatments for cancer. To then receive such generosity from the Philadelphia restaurant, which we had never visited, was more than we could have ever expected or asked for. Thank you so much!
