A War Worth Fighting For
My wife knows me as the Chick-fil-A addict! I literally can't turn down a chicken sandwich from this place! Before my last deployment, we were just dating and she thought it was so bizarre that one person could love a restaurant so much. I was so sad that we didn't have any Chick-fil-A's in Iraq. Though, given the circumstances I think I'd have been a little confused if I ran into one over there.
Several months after my unwelcome Chick-fil-A hiatus we returned home. I spent three weeks in Camp Atterbury, IN. This is where we de-mobilized from after the deployment. While walking by the post-exchange, I noticed a very small trailer-booth with an oh-so familiar cow spot paint job. My buddies and I ran over to it and sure enough there were a couple of guys selling Chick-fil-A meals out of the back of this trailer.
I can't remember too many other days from that deployment that I was so excited! My girlfriend, at the time, was amused that of all things, there happened to be a Chick-fil-A on this rather small military post located out in the middle of the woods.
Not long afterwards, we got married, and I'd say between the two of us we could keep the whole business running!
