Part Of The Family!
I've heard it called Chick-a-fil-a, Chick-a-flé, and Chicky. No matter what you call it, Chick-fil-A is one of my favorite places to go!
After my Chicky opened, a friend and I went to eat dinner and it became an everyday occurrence. We quickly made friends with the staff. As time went by, studying for the GRE became part of our nightly visits. I could study more seriously and studiously, but then I would miss the number one reason I go, THE PEOPLE! I treasure my little chats with employees when they are off the clock or not busy.
Over time, I began to realize they also care about me. They treat me as a member of the Chick-fil-A family (I even have an honorary name tag)!
They have seen me on happy, down, and stressed days. They can put the smile back on my face just by their hello. They can tell if something is wrong and are always ready to cheer me up with smiles, hugs, a balloon, a cookie, my favorite drink, or an Icedream cone. One time, I came to get a drink to go. One staff member anticipated my order of my favorite menu item. Too bad for me that I wasn’t staying.
One especially stressful work day, I received an encouraging phone call from an employee who knew I was having a hard time. After I got to my Chicky, my second family gave me a drink, a hug and a listening ear. I sat down and my favorite meal was delivered to my table, my drink was refilled 3 times, I was checked on at least 3 times, and my trash was thrown away. Where else can you go and be treated like royalty because you had a stressful couple of hours!?
Multiple times I received help with GRE studies. One night, one employee wouldn’t let me quit. After clocking out, this employee came over and not only helped me solve one, but two math problems. They have proven and continue to prove that they “have my back”. Though I bring them treats, pray for them, rejoice in their attainments, and try to encourage them in their troubles, I think I get the better end of the deal! Chick-fil-A, Thank you for being YOU!
