One of my first jobs out of high school was working at a mall in Hampton, VA. I would usually bring in a bagged lunch for my evening break, but one night I forgot. I remembered all those nights before smelling something too wonderful to put into words and my stomach would growl and my mouth would water just breathing in the delicious aroma. So I decided to find out where this tantalizing restaurant was; I knew it was close by.
There it was in big red letters, "Chick-fil-A!" I thought, "Oh, just another chicken sandwich." I was somewhat let down but decided to order their main sandwich anyway - the "Chick-fil-A Sandwich". I will never forget how wonderful the chicken tasted within the folds of one of the softest buns I've ever eaten. Wow! Wow!
Needless to say, I had many more chicken sandwiches from Chick-fil-A while working at that mall. Unfortunately, I moved from VA to several other states and did not find another Chick-fil-A until I lived near Hilton Head, SC.
I picked up right where I where I left off - lovin' Chick-fil-A. I travel through St. Joseph, MO on my way to Jacksonville, IL to visit my sister and one day about three years ago, I noticed a big sign on Hwy I-29 showing the big red "Chick-fil-A," and I thought, "No way." So I got off at the exit and found Chick-fil-A and stopped to eat (nom nom) delicious! They have the friendliest staff I've ever seen at a fast food restaurant.
Now I stop every time I go that way and get my favorite chicken sandwich. I don't usually get one on the way back because Chick-fil-A is closed on Sundays.
I was overjoyed when The Mutual of Omaha Building in downtown Omaha, NE, opened up to the public; the only current Chick-fil-A in our city. Thank you Chick-fil-A for having the best chicken sandwich for over 35 years of my life.
