Delivery At Chick-fil-A ?
This is what I would call the Greatest Service Story of the Year. We own a small-business and we are constantly searching for ways to WOW our customers and provide extra special service. In fact, our tagline is "Service is in the Details". Well, last night we were WOW'd more than ever by our local Chick-fil-A in Largo, Florida.
My family was on its way home from a long night of networking and decided to stop off at the drive-thru for some dessert. It was around 9:00 p.m. We ordered two milkshakes and one cup of Icedream. We drove home, which is about 5 minutes away. When we were inside our home, I noticed that there was something unusual about the Icedream. Although I was still able to eat it, I decided to call the Restaurant just to let them know.
The manager who answered the phone was Marvin D., who ended up being the General Manager. I told him the situation and expected him to offer me a free dessert on my next visit, which would have been protocol in most fast-food restaurants. Instead, he offered to deliver a cup of Icedream to my home, personally, right then and there. I could not believe what I was hearing. In approximately 15 min, he arrived at my home and I went out to greet him. He got out of his vehicle, shook my hand and handed me not one but two cups of Icedream and free Chick-fil-A Sandwich coupons. Are you kidding me?! We spoke for about 5 minutes and then he took off to go close his store and go home to his family.
So, let's be clear about what happened. Mr. D. left his restaurant at 9:20 p.m. when he was preparing to close his store. He got in his vehicle to deliver one cup of Icedream to a dissatisfied customer. He brought extra Icedream plus free sandwich coupons. If this does not blow you away, you are not really in touch with what service really is. There is no restaurant that would do something like this. I am certain.
