Each year for the last 20 years or so, my Mom would buy Chick-fil-A Nuggets Trays to serve on Christmas Eve, when we all came home from church services, and more recently on Christmas Day with our traditional meal. She raised 10 children and now has us, plus 8 spouses and 28 grandchildren. We all looked forward to knowing there would be Chick-fil-A Nuggets waiting for us when we arrived at her house. And all the grandchildren have come to know this as well.
This past April, my mother took a fall and ended up passing away due to a traumatic brain injury. She was full of traditions and family focused plans which will make life without her even more difficult. This Christmas, I am not sure any of us will be able to fill her shoes and make sure to carry on all that she did to make the holidays so special. If no one gets up the nerve to buy several Trays of Chick-fil-A Nuggets, we will just enjoy previous memories of them. Maybe after a few Christmas seasons pass, we will be able to recreate these moments. In the photo, my Mother is in the middle wearing red.
I just wanted to let you know that you really do serve more than food. We will forever have a special place etched in all our hearts for Chick-fil-A because our mom made you such a special part of our family traditions.
Thanks for the memories,
