Yesterday was an emotionally exhausting day. I woke up at 4:30am to drive 5 hours for my college roommate's cancer surgery. We spent the day praying and waiting for news and finally in the evening we found out that the surgeons were able to remove all of the cancer and that it was contained. She was cancer-free! I left Durham around 6:30pm to make the 5 hour trek back home. Because I had been so nervous, I was unable to eat during the day, but decided to stop at Chick-fil-A in Salisbury, NC.
Since it was my birthday, I ordered the large Chick-fil-A Nuggets Meal and as I pulled up to the drive-thru, I searched for my debit card. I had gotten gas about an hour earlier, but I could not find it. The sweet team member at the window said, "We all have days like this. It’s on us." With tears streaming down my cheeks, I told her about my roommate and that it was my birthday. I cannot explain what it meant to me. Thank you, Chick-fil-A for one of the best birthday dinners ever.
