Chick-fil-A Soldier Homecoming
My husband, CW4 Bobby Dennis, was deployed to Iraq in 2004/2005. The one thing he missed the most, food wise, was Chick-fil-A. When we talked to him he would always say that when he got home that Chick-fil-A was one of the first places he wanted to eat.
He was scheduled to come home for his two week leave in November of 2004 in the afternoon. We had arranged for a surprise welcome home party for him at the Thomas Crossroads Chick-fil-A in Newnan, GA. His flight was delayed and they stayed on "stand-by" with the party throughout the day. His flight did not come in until early the next morning, but rather than cancel the welcome home party, they threw him a "Welcome Home" breakfast party when he arrived the next morning! They welcomed him with the sign out front and inside had the place all decorated for him in red, white and blue. People from all over Newnan, family, friends and even people we didn't even know stopped by to greet him and welcome him home. Chick-fil-A made this a very memorable day for us as we welcomed my husband home and I will be forever grateful!
