Medicine For My Soul
We are huge fans of Chick-fil-A and our favorite is the Northpark Mall Restaurant in Davenport, Iowa. We're both retired so our schedules give us ample time to visit often. (And it ends the discussion on who has to cook dinner that night.)
The staff is very friendly, but our favorite is Marcie. We'll let someone go ahead of us just so she can wait on us.
My wife recently had a knee replacement, then gall bladder surgery, and now hernia surgery as a result of the gall bladder surgery. Her favorite pick me up and favorite meal throughout the recoveries has been your Cookies n’ Cream Milkshakes, minus the whipped cream and cherry. Whenever I order this particular shake, Marcie always knows Maggie is not feeling well and asks about her condition. She also adds just a sprinkle of cookies on the top of her shake as a gesture that she wishes Maggie a speedy recovery. And it works. My wife always brightened up to think that Chick-fil-A cares.
My wife was having a very bad time after her hernia surgery Wednesday and she finally wanted something to eat this afternoon - yes, the shake. I ordered two so I could put one in the freezer for later, and Marcie made her usual personal shake. However, she took the cardboard carrier and wrote a very special recovery wish for Maggie on the side. I joked that Maggie will never throw the carrier away.
But I wasn't joking. The carrier "get well soon” wish now sits on the table with the flowers and cards. And Maggie beams every time she tells where it came from.
Thanks for hiring such caring individuals. It really does make a difference. And please thank Marcie for us.
