Looking Forward To Chick-fil-A
This is me and my Grandson Riley. He was diagnosed with medulloblastoma on August the 15th of this year. It is a childhood brain tumor of which there is no cure. He has undergone surgeries and chemo and is now into radiation. He is our little hero, showing us what faith and trust in our Lord really is. He has never complained about his condition, although he really does not like to be poked and prodded (after all, who does?). He has adapted to each new situation as it comes. He couldn't walk so he crawled. He couldn't use his left hand so he began to use his right one. He is a determined little boy.
He was 4 years old when we found out and we recently celebrated his 5th birthday at Memaw and Pawpaw's home in September. Now let me tell you that Chick-fil-A is where he wants to be each and every time he comes out of the hospital, whether he is in for routine checks, a CT Scan, a treatment, or even a few days stay. When he was going for chemo treatments, he would say every time, "When I get done, we are going to Chick-fil-A." And of course we did. And if he was having a bad day and not really wanting to cooperate with the doctors and nurses, all that we needed to be said was,"Riley, do you want to go to Chick-fil-A today?" Yep, that was enough to get it done!
I just wanted to share this story with you. Thank you for being there for one special little boy in my life, helping him get through a most difficult time in his young life, and giving him something to look forward to each and every day. God Bless You!
