Something We've Waited For

For almost four years we'd been trying to adopt a girl into our family. For one reason or another we found ourselves waiting, not matched, or otherwise delayed. At one point in the process we had to move to another state and start the process over from scratch.

Finally, God blessed us by adding a little three week old baby girl to our family. The adoption agency held a ceremony to celebrate the special occasion. Afterwards, we started to drive down to a family reunion to surprise everyone else with the news (and the baby!). No sooner did we get started than the baby started to fuss in need of a bottle.

There's not a lot of Chick-fil-A's close to our house, so when we saw a sign for one, we knew we had to stop there. At that Chick-fil-A, we fed our new baby girl for the first time. We got a lot of strange looks for taking photos of her drinking a bottle, but we didn't care. That trip to Chick-fil-A will always be special to us, because it was a chance to enjoy a special moment with someone we've been waiting for, while eating something we've been waiting for.
