Above And Beyond

My Mom, sister and I visited San Antonio, Texas from British Columbia, Canada to watch my nephew play football in a tournament, this game being against Team Europe (finals held in the Alamo Dome). He plays for Team B.C. (under 19's). As this game was being held in a stadium north of San Antonio, we decided to take a bus and get off at a small mall to do some shopping. We went for a late lunch to Chick-fil-A at Seguin Road and were immediately impressed by the level of service and politeness of the staff.

Our plan was to take a taxi to the stadium from there (thinking we were about 5 minutes from the field), so my sister asked a young female at the counter if she could possibly call us a taxi. She called and we were informed that a taxi would take at least 1 hour to get us to the stadium which caused panic for us as the football game would be starting before that. This young girl said she was getting a break soon and would drive us herself on her break and would go check with her Manager to see if that was ok. We could not have been more surprised when she returned. After speaking to Mike Mills, the Manager stated that he would be happy to drive us when we were finished eating our meal. Mike escorted us to his big black truck and was such a gentleman. He drove us to the stadium which we found was closer to a 20 minute drive than the 5 we imagined, and after this drive we realized we would never had found this stadium on our own or on the bus.

We all want to thank Mike for going above and beyond and making our trip to San Antonio even more memorable. I also wanted to let him know that our boys won against Team Europe and continued thru the tournament to the Alamo Dome winning against Team USA and taking home 1st place and good memories. Thank you for getting us to the game on time Mike. We each plan on paying this forward!
