My family and I were shopping in our local mall in Warner Robins, GA today trying to find last minute items for my kids' Easter outfits. I had partly put it off because my oldest son has been very ill, and with so many doctor appointments, he didn't feel like shopping. But it was also partly because the same little boy so desperately wanted a bow tie instead of a regular neck tie. You see he loves to dress up in his nice clothes, but had been asking for a bow tie for over a year and I had yet to find one.
Well, after three stores, the day before Easter, we were sure we wouldn't find one so my son again settled for a necktie. As we were leaving the mall we stopped by the Chick-fil-A because I so wanted a sweet tea. As I was standing there, I noticed that the manager had on a bow tie and I privately wished I had could ask him where he got it. My husband, never meeting a stranger, asked him and he said that he had gotten it from Chick-fil-A. When he saw our disappointment he asked why and we were able to explain about our son.
With a small smile he asked if we would be around for a while or if we from out of town. I explained that we lived in town with an obvious puzzled look on my face. He then explained that if we could come back at 8:30 that night (just before closing) he would give his tie to our son! He said he would have given it to him right then except he wouldn't have another one to wear.
It literally made my son's day and brought a smile to his face that we hadn't really seen in a few months! Thank you to this manager (your manager) who was willing to give his bow tie to my son. You will never know how much it means to this mom's heart, after so many months of doctors visits, blood work, ER visits, almost constant pain, and so much more, to see that smile across my son's face!
