Cadets At Breakfast
If you have ever been out of town with a bus full of high school students, you know they can eat quite a bit. On April 19th, we were in San Angelo, Texas for a JROTC Drill Competition at Angelo State University. Our motel advertised a continental breakfast on their website, so we had school funds for only lunch and dinner. When we checked into the hotel, we were very surprised to learn they only offered coffee in the mornings.
Fortunately, we ran into a local educator who suggested we contact his friend at the nearby Chick-fil-A. Hearing our predicament, Billy Robertson offered to sponsor our Drill Teams with Chick-fil-A Chicken Biscuits and drinks. In the early morning darkness, our 26 cadets were all smiles as they enjoyed a delicious breakfast. Our teams ended the day having won trophies and medals in three events including the Warrior Challenge physical fitness competition. Thank you Chick-fil-A!
Whenever we travel to future competitions, we will seek out Chick-fil-A for our meals. A lot of loyal customers were made that early morning deep in the heart of Texas.
