Act Of Kindness
It had been a long work week leading up to April 15th. After leaving work late on the Friday night before the tax filing deadline, I stopped by the Chick-fil-A on Stacy Road in Allen. The drive thru line was long, so I went inside. The young lady at the register (Noor) asked me how I was doing. Tired from the long week, I replied, "I've been better." As she took my order, I explained a bit more, "I'm just tired. I do tax work and it's been a long week." She keyed in my order and began to fill it. When she came back with my food and shake, I had my wallet out to pay. Noor said, "No charge. I hope we can give you something to smile about." Needless to say, I smiled!
Noor's kind gesture was such an encouragement. Many thanks - both to Noor and to a company that empowers its employees to make this type of "giveaway" decision. It was an act of kindness to me, but also a good business decision. The $9 meal Noor gave me tonight was an investment that will reap a loyalty reward many times that amount.
