My Mom, Sylvia, 90 years old and my Dad, Chet, 93 years old look forward to their daily trip to Chick-fil-A on N.Williamson Blvd in Daytona Beach, Florida. Yes, you read that correctly. Rain or shine, my folks make the trip to Chick-fil-A six days a week, every week.
Going to lunch everyday at Chick-fil-A gives my parents a chance to visit with the )perator, Gary Harris and his staff, who have all become their friends. Each one of the staff members is truly exceptional. I‘m not going to mention the staff by name for fear I’ll forget someone. My Mom has difficulty walking and uses portable oxygen. The staff greets my folks at the front door and takes their order. While Mom and Dad find a table, the staff prepares their food and brings it to the table for them. Several of the staff will stop by to say hello and visit. If they need any assistance at all, the staff is right there to give them a hand.
Both of my parents celebrated their birthdays and 71st wedding anniversary this past year with the staff at Chick-fil-A. The staff gave them cards, a cake and flowers to mark those occasions. Recently, my Mom was hospitalized. The entire staff signed a get well card and brought a wonderful Chick-fil-A meal to their house when she came home since they were unable to make their daily visit.
All of the exceptional people at this Chick-fil-A go above and beyond daily to provide help, outstanding hospitality and incredible service. They have truly become part of our extended family.
