Daddy Daughter Date Night
The past 2 years my dad and I have gone to the Daddy-Daughter Date Night event hosted by our local Chick-fil-A. We always laugh because I'm usually the only high schooler there; most of the girls with their dads are in elementary school or younger. Last year my dad made a comment to the manager's wife that I wouldn't be there next year because I'd be at college. She said, "That's okay, you'll just have to Skype."
About a month ago my dad called me and told me to make the reservation for our Date Night, even though the Chick-fil-A where I go to school doesn't do it. He called the restaurant ahead of time and they made sure to give him a back booth. We both got to our respective Chick-fil-A's on the designated night, set up our computers, and had our Date Night via Skype, 1000+ miles away from each other. I got to pick out the color bow I wanted for my goodie bag, and my dad and I got to talk and bond while we ate. The manager's wife checked up on us, and I even got to thank her for accommodating my dad and I. It is definitely something I will never forget. I am so thankful to the staff and Mr. Leslie Brown and his wife of the Garrisonville Chick-fil-A for making a college freshman feel a little bit less homesick by being able to let her have dinner with her daddy.
