Nothin' But Chick-fil-A
Our family doesn't have a Chick-fil-A near us (can you imagine the horror?). But vacations to southern states have made us lifelong fans. So, when we were planning a drive from upstate New York to Florida in January 2010, we decided it would be a lot of fun (and a good diversion for the kids) to plan a route that allowed us to eat ONLY at Chick-fil-A's. Down to Florida and back...breakfast, lunch and dinner...for twenty-four hours, it was nothin' but Chick-fil-A!
We visited Chick-fil-A's in New Jersey, Maryland, Virginia, Georgia and Florida. We even visited a couple restaurants more than once. We made stops for our favorite snack in the entire world: Chick-fil-A milkshakes. The mall in Port Canaveral, Florida--our destination--had a wonderful restaurant that amazed us by bringing out our drinks and offering to clear our table. That doesn't happen in food courts in New York! We ate there at least twice.
Every Chick-fil-A we visited thought our story was great, and all the servers went out of their way to treat us "special". One manager came out and sat with us to ask about our trip. He invited us back to his restaurant on the way home. No matter which state we were in, and no matter which restaurant we visited, we always had the same great food and the same great service.
When we got home, we asked the kids what they enjoyed most about our vacation. (Keep in mind we visited Florida in order to take an amazing Disney cruise for the first time.) They all said getting there and back was the MOST fun, because we got to eat at "nothin' but Chick-fil-A's"!
Thanks for a great family memory, Chick-fil-A. We're doing a repeat trip in October 2011. We've downloaded the Chick-fil-A iPhone app and are planning another route of nothin' but Chick-fil-A's. See you then!
