Me And Chick-fil-A
I first had a Chick-fil-A Sandwich at the Cerritos Mall in Cerritos California. It was in the late 70s if I recall correctly. It was one of the first Chick-fil-A's in the west at that time. I fell in love with their whole operation. I remember the boxes the meals came in, the wonderful lemon pie and Icedream. I liked the original french fries better than the current Waffle Fries. I think the smaller nuggets were better back then as well. But I have never once considered making a change to any other good food fast restaurant. Chick-fil-A is simply the best.
My family will tell you that I planned many a vacation around Chick-fil-A restaurants. I would call their corporate headquarters just to find out locations, recent and planned openings. We would sometimes travel great distances out of our way to enjoy eating Chick-fil-A. Usually I would arrange to spend the night on those out of town trips close to that particular Chick-fil-A so we could enjoy it more than once on the trip. Or we could always swing by the same way as we headed home. Last count I had eaten at over 30 different Chick-fil-A. Not too bad considering when I had hit close to 30 there were only several on the west coast so you can see how many times we vacationed by one.
The last two towns we have lived in, the closest Chick-fil-A's were a little over an hour away. We made plenty of weekend trips to those towns closest to us with a Chick-fil-A. When they finally were building one in the next town to us in an old Krispy Kreme structure, I was thrilled. My kids texted me a picture of the Chick-fil-A coming soon sign. Too late, I had already beaten them to it and had already taken the same picture. A few years later we now have our very own Chick-fil-A. It is less than a mile from my house just like when I first enjoyed my very first Chick-fil-A Sandwich back in Cerritos.
Pretty much everyone who knows me knows of my love of Chick-fil-A. A great restaurant with a great company philosophy. I have been a Raving Fan for 35 years now.
