I began working at Chick-fil-A of Magnolia Mall at the same time the mall opened, in 1979. As a Crew Chief, I also helped open the store in Sumter, SC . At the banquet celebrating the Grand Opening, I met Mr. Truett Cathy. After dinner, we went to the Jessamine Mall in Sumter to visit the new store. Mr. Cathy and I walked the mall and talked about life and working at Chick-fil-A. I continued my work in the Florence store, and became the first Chick-fil-A college scholarship recipient from Florence, SC. The life lessons learned by my work experience and the personal interest from my Operator, David Pate, helped shape me into the man I am today. I am now living out my life destiny as a pastor in South Carolina, and I enjoy a Chick-fil-A Sandwich almost every time I'm in Florence!
