Adoption Is Sweet!
Eleven days after coming home from Ghana with two new children I was in desperate need of some time "alone". We now have four children at home and they are all adjusting to our new normal so I knew it would be impossible to get away completely alone. I settled for taking the very clingy, new 5 year old sweetie with me to Chick-fil-A.
On the way, I called another adoptive mom to see if we could pick up her little girl who was adopted from China several years ago for an impromptu playdate and lunch. This little girl had some experience with Chick-fil-A and happily showed her new buddy from Ghana the best way to enjoy Chick-fil-A. They played and squealed in the playzone and then took a break to enjoy Chick-fil-A Nuggets, Waffle Fries, and lemonade. My little girl who turned her nose up at most new foods including the Nuggets and Waffle Fries, was very quick to try them after her new friend quickly began to devour her meal. Now my Ghanaian sweetie loves Chick-fil-A!
While they played I was able to enjoy my lemonade and catch up on my bible study without any children hanging on me. Additionally, my little girl made a wonderful new friend while learning the art of truly enjoying Chick-fil-A food and amenities. So sweet!
