Random Act Of Kindness
Today (4/14) after attending a work appointment which lasted through the lunch hour, I decided to grab a late lunch at Chick-fil-A on my way back to the office. Given that I'd skipped my regular lunch time, I was extremely hungry and knew exactly what I wanted from Chick-fil-A that would take care of my hunger pangs - a #1 with extra pickles, with a sweet tea and lemonade split to drink. I order it every time I visit and today was no different. Except today, the Houston area was experiencing a extremely heavy down pour of rain at that very exact time of my visit. I decided to order inside in an effort to get to my food a little bit faster than the drive-thru line. It wasn't until I'd placed my order that I realized I left my wallet at home and did not have any means to pay for my order. I attended a work related fundraiser event the night before, but this morning, left home with my everyday handbag, failing to transfer the items from my clutch into the handbag - including my cash and debit card. Without hesitation, my cashier, who appeared to be teen-aged, reached into his pocket for his wallet and paid for my order. His nametag read Art. I cannot thank Art enough for his random act of kindness and would like to publicly thank him for offering sunshine during my rainy day.
