A Smile For A Veteran
While I was serving in the Navy, I had a grand-mal seizure in 2011 and was shortly after diagnosed with epilepsy (seizure disorder). Since then I've had quite a few grand-mal seizures and countless smaller(complex partial, absence, etc.) seizures with each seizure possibly causing the deterioration of cognitive, memory, and social skills. The limitations led to a medical discharge and in the care of my parents back in Martinsburg, WV until such time as I become seizure free. My mother had a tradition with my brother of going to the Chick-fil-A after doctor appointments at the local VA. It was a tradition I was soon to join. After a particularly hard appointment, I was met at the store with a genuine smile and greeting and an original Chick-fil-A Chicken Sandwich and Lemonade. Some things so easily taken for granted had produced an almost indescribable happiness. Each time since, after every doctor's appointment from the VA, there has always been a sincere smile and delicious sandwich with lemonade to bring a little bit of peace and bliss to the day. Thank you to those who ensure the quality remains the same and thank you to those ensure the people are looked after.
