A Charitable Chick-fil-A
For the past 2 years, I have volunteered to work for a charity, called "Share Our Strength". It's a charity that is working to end childhood hunger in this country. To help raise money, I volunteer to host a bake sale and then send 100% of the profits to "Share Our Strength". This organization is especially needy during a recession, as you can imagine.
When I began my crusade to help end childhood hunger, I contacted my local Chick-fil-A, in Waldorf, MD, and asked them if they could donate gallons of lemonade or iced tea for the event, so I could sell glassfuls to thirsty donors. The Store Manager and the Marketing Manager did not hesitate to provide me with 4 gallons of tea!!! But they didn't stop there. They even gave me cups and balloons!! (I have to tell you, I contacted every other restaurant in Waldorf, that first year, and no one would donate a single thing. Chick-fil-A was the only one who said yes).
Even through this recession, the wonderful staff, at the Waldorf Chick-fil-A, made it a point to not forget the importance of serving their community, especially the ones who can't care for themselves, the children. I can't tell you how proud and gracious I am, to them, for going above and beyond to make a difference in our community. Because of their generosity, the money raised from the sale of the iced tea alone, was able to feed 2 children through the entire summer, while school was out of session. That is quite a gift of kindness and a testimony to the incredible giving nature this organization consistently delivers. Thank you Waldorf Chick-fil-A for being one of the best.
