I Am The Chick-fil-A Fairy
I Am the Chick-fil-A fairy!
What started out as a way to bring a smile has exploded!
We live in an area with the closest Chick-fil-A about 4 hours away.
Just over two years ago, while in our Friday night group, a truly sinister text with photo was sent to one of the women in our group. Her husband was out of town and had stopped at Chick-fil-A to get a sandwich and had texted her with the photo of him taking a bite, "wish you were here". Her reaction was dramatic and immediate. She also stated he was going to pay for the duress he had put her in.
The plan was hatched. I had a trip the next week driving through Flagstaff, AZ, an area with a Chick-fil-A at NAU. I got off the freeway, spent almost an hour finding the Chick-fil-A in the student union and ordered originals for my family and her as well. (I did not want to get in trouble with my own family) Four hours later I was dropping off the sandwiches. Smiles all around and one of the most joyous thank you phone calls I have ever received. The Chick-fil-A fairy was born.
I have since been getting Chick-fil-A originals any time I am where I can get them and bringing them home to hand out. Places such as southern CA, Phoenix, AZ, Dallas, TX, Atlanta, GA. (where I had 20 originals in the luggage going through TAS is a story for another day) Yesterday I was in Riverside, CA. I drove 20 minutes out of my way to picked up 19 extra originals and got home just as AWANAs started. Since most of the people I now supply with a treat about once a month have kids in the AWANA program, I decided to make my deliveries there. I should have brought 40 originals. The amount of lamenting "Where did you get them, where is mine, please get me some next time" was overwhelming. I have now added 3 additional families and several individuals to the list that the Chick-fil-A fairy must bring smiles to.
Keeping the deprived in smiles,
Paul Schulz (the Chick-fil-A fairy)
