A Real Day Brightner
The picture of my wife and me is an old one. I chose it because, after 41 years of marriage, she passed away three months ago. I miss her every day. Although I am now 71 years old, up until last week I had never eaten at a Chick-fil-A restaurant. On this particular day it was lunch time, I had not eaten all day, and there was a Chick-fil-A restaurant right across the parking lot. I went in and was immediately impressed by two things; first was the cleanliness of the restaurant, and second was the friendliness of the staff. The restaurant was crowded and busy so I apologized to the friendly young lady who was waiting to take my order. I told her that I had never eaten at Chick-fil-A before so I didn't know what to order. She couldn't have been nicer. She made helpful suggestions, took my order, and when I asked her how much I owed her she smiled, patted the back of my hand, and said "That's alright sir, this one's on us." That young lady had no way of knowing how depressed I felt that day, nor could she know how her warm, friendly smile, and kind gesture, lifted my spirits. I thoroughly enjoyed my first Chick-fil-A sandwich, and I will definitely be back again.
