I just want to say that I love Chick-fil-A. The first time I ever had it, I was hooked. The restaurant I went to was in Texas and I live in California now so I was a little worried that there wouldn't be any where I live. But to my surprise there was! Although they're a little far, I make the trip at least twice a month to treat myself. It just makes me so happy. From the employees to, of course, ... read more >
For the past three years the Chick-fil-A Hurst in Hurst TX has hosted a blood and bone marrow registry drive in honor of my daughter Hallie Bea. Hallie has a rare bone marrow failure called Diamond Blackfan Anemia. Her bone marrow doesn't produce red blood cells which are essential for survival. There are less than 800 children worldwide diagnosed with DBA. Hallie is alive tod... read more >
In our photo above you can see just a glimpse of our dedication to Chick-fil-A and Cow Appreciation Day. Well, our love for your food and each other started a few years before this photo.
During college our local provider offered a deal for students, and as people were pairing up to be semester-long meal partners, Mary-Kate and I decided to forsake our previous partners and take turns buying eac... read more >
I live in Birmingham, AL and while traveling for business have stopped twice in two months at the Chick-fil-A at the Arbor Place Mall in Douglasville, GA. Both times I was served by this nice and very personable young lady. I wanted coffee and she suggested the new Iced Coffee. I gave it a try and boy was it good. The only down side was that I wanted another one, while driving back home. Than... read more >
Our son recently started working at Chick-fil-A in Brick, NJ. When I checked out their Facebook page, there was this announcement about something called, Cow Appreciation Day! We had never heard of this before! But when his sisters and I found out, it was immediately on our "to-do" list. We had construction paper and foam masks and pipe cleaners in black and white. So we spent the afternoon happil... read more >
I just had to share the Cow Appreciation Day notice with my daughter. She sounded interested.
"Would you like me to make something? I have eight yards of holstein fabric."
"Oh, something easy, like capes," she said.
Capes? No way. I make pillowcase dresses for poor children as a ministry outreach. I made dresses for her daughters, pajamas for her son and an apron for her. For her husband, I made a... read more >
When I was in elementary and middle school, I decided to start a little cow collection. Any cute cow item I saw I would buy and add to my shelf of cows. When I went away to college I packed up all my cows in a box and put them high on a shelf. I moved home after my junior year at college, and when I heard it was Cow Appreciation Day, I had a great idea for a costume. I dusted off my old box of cow... read more >
Both my husband and the original chicken sandwich are celebrating their 50th birthdays this year. Both originated in 1964. His birthday is the end of August so we counted back 50 days and are having 50 days of fun. Each day we are trying to do something fun to commemorate the event. Lucky for us, Cow Appreciation Day fell on DAY ONE! We have never attended one before, so we were not sure about t... read more >
