On August 27, 2012 I was riding my road bike down Call Street. While crossing the intersection at chapel a car hit me. I flew across the hood and landed face first on the other side of the intersection. I was not wearing a helmet and probably was going about 20 miles. Obviously not a great situation for any person to be in, especially on the first day of classes. But while I was lying on the g... read more >
My dog became overcome from the heat on our walk to a gas station recently. I had run out of gas and had to walk with her versus leaving her on the bus. I could see signs that she was dehydrated as she was crying out of both eyes. I walked up to the drive-thru and asked for a cup of ice water and they gladly passed the cup out of the window. I sat down with her in the shaded wet grass for at least... read more >
I would like to inform you that I recently had the most amazing experience happen to me. Until today I didn't know that people such as the employees in my Chick-fil-A story still existed on this earth.
Today I received a card from Chick-fil-A in Avondale, AZ. It read, "Brandi Nicole S., We are just letting you know we found your driver's license in our parking lot and since we had no phone numbe... read more >
We go visit my Gramma once a week and her favorite thing to do is go get chicken sandwiches and it’s become a tradition to go to Chick-fil-A. Last week as we sat and ate I realized how much I appreciated this special spot for our memories. Even though it’s the most crowded spot at lunchtime, there is always a clean seat, fresh flowers on the tables, the most polite employees, delicious food and a ... read more >
Two years ago on August 20th, 2010, my family received the devastating news that our son/brother, 19 year old LCpl. Cody S. Childers had been killed in action in Afghanistan while on patrol with his 2/6 Marine Squad. I went thru the motions and made many decisions that I prayed Cody would have wanted in the days following.
One morning a few days before the big Military Memorial service we were p... read more >
My brother lives in Clermont, Florida, and often stops at Chick-fil-A on his way to work. His phone connects through a speaker in his car and often he and I are speaking on the phone when he goes through the drive-thru. The same guy is usually working the window. His name is Justin.
Over the past year or so, Justin and I have gotten to "know" each other through this unusual speaker-phone conv... read more >
I was dining at a Chick-fil-A restaurant and was so excited to eat my deluxe Spicy Chicken Sandwich. As I was walking to a table, a child was doing jumping jacks. His arm hit my tray and my food and cola spilled all over the poor kid. There was ketchup all over his head! I was upset for my food now all over the small boy.
A Chick-fil-A employee came out right away and made sure everyone was fine... read more >
Our daughter, son-in-law and sweet 4 year old grandson have been in Rwanda, Africa now for almost a year and a half as missionaries. Before they left (when Will was 2) we ate often at Chick-fil-A and dressed up as cows for the annual Cow Appreciation Day event. Will loved the playground.
While we get to Skype with them fairly often, we did not expect for them to come home for 3 more years. A mon... read more >
