Professional Career

James B. "Buck" McCabe is Executive Vice President and a member of the Board of Directors of Chick-fil-A, Inc. He is also a member of the company's Executive Committee. Before retiring as chief financial officer in 2014, Buck was responsible for all financial departments, information technology, corporate administration, legal, and Cathy family financial planning for Chick-fil-A.

Prior to his work at Chick-fil-A, Buck spent four years as an auditor with international accounting firm Peat Marwick, now KPMG and served his country as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army. His career with the company began in 1978 as a corporate accounting manager, after which he took on roles including assistant controller, controller, vice president, and then vice president and chief financial officer in 1982.

A former chairman of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes board of trustees, Buck currently serves on the organization’s national advisory board while remaining active in the Atlanta Metro Fellowship of Christian Athletes. He also serves on the board of trustees for The National Christian Foundation and is a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes Hall of Champions.

Buck holds both a bachelor’s in accounting as well as a Master of Business Administration from The College of William & Mary. He is also a graduate of the Harvard Business School advanced management program and was named "CFO of the Year" in 2008 by the Atlanta Business Chronicle.

He and his wife, Susan, have three children and four grandchildren.
