About Andrew Cathy
Andrew Cathy is the senior vice president and chief people officer at Chick-fil-A, Inc., where he oversees the selection, training and professional development of corporate staff and franchise restaurant Operators. In addition, Cathy oversees international development and the campus facilities of the corporate headquarters, known as the Support Center. He is the eldest grandchild of Chick-fil-A founder, S. Truett Cathy, and son of Dan Cathy, Chick-fil-A’s chief executive officer.
Cathy grew up in the family business, now one of the nation’s largest chicken restaurant chains. He began working in the business at an early age, and later led two Chick-fil-A restaurants, first as the manager of a Chick-fil-A in South Africa, and then as the Operator of a Chick-fil-A in St. Petersburg, Fla. He then began his corporate career at Chick-fil-A where he started in the operator selections area of the business before becoming director of franchisee selection. In 2015, he was appointed to the Executive Committee, the company’s senior leadership team.
Cathy serves on the board of directors for Pinewood Atlanta Studios and the board of trustees for Point University. He and his wife, Mandy, reside in Atlanta with their three children.
