How do I know if I am eligible to apply?
I am in high school. Am I eligible to apply?
You are eligible if you will be dual-enrolled or enrolling at a qualifying post-secondary institution, including vocational and technical schools for the upcoming academic year and meet all other eligibility requirements.
I am pursuing graduate school. Can I apply for the scholarship?
Is this scholarship based solely on financial need?
Chick-fil-A™ Community Scholar recipients will be selected based on academic success, community service, financial need and letter(s) of recommendation.
How many hours of demonstrated care and service do I need to be eligible?
There is not a time-based requirement; however, applicants need to have participated in community service in the twelve (12) months prior to application. We understand that the COVID-19 pandemic may have changed how you were able to volunteer and show care to others. You will be asked to share ways you were able to make an impact on your community, friends and family over the last 12 months. Some examples include caring for a loved one who was ill, serving medical professionals or other frontline workers, or serving a local church or nonprofit organization.
The Community Scholars application requires at least one letter of recommendation. Will I have a better chance of being selected if nominated by a Chick-fil-A® Operator, restaurant Team Member or Chick-fil-A, Inc. Staff Member?
All applicants will be given equal consideration. Securing a letter of recommendation from someone affiliated with a Chick-fil-A restaurant or Chick-fil-A, Inc., will not provide any competitive advantage in the selection process.
