Springfield, Illinois is gearing up for some unexpected attention as a special Chick-fil-A opens on 2431 Wabash Ave on March 10th. While it's the city’s first full-service Chick-fil-A, it also happens to be the 2000th restaurant the Atlanta-based company has opened in its 70 year history. In the past year alone, Chick-fil-A has expanded to the literal corners of the US, opening its first restaurants in Portland, Ore. and New York City, N.Y. Known for the original Chicken Sandwich, healthy meal choices, and infamous billboard-painting cows, it seems the business Truett Cathy built knows few bounds. See our visual guide to how Chick-fil-A continues to evolve through the years.
