My Chick-fil-A Success Story | Carolina

Inside Chick-fil-A

“I could go on and on about everything my local Chick-fil-A restaurant experience taught me. But if I had to choose just three lessons, they would be leadership, communication and teamwork.”

When she first joined her local Chick-fil-A team in Laredo, Texas, Carolina Olivares described herself as quiet and shy.

“I came out of my shell quickly,” she said. “I learned how to express myself with confidence.”

Carolina started working part-time at the restaurant in marketing, event coordination and operations management. She eventually worked her way up to the position of Operations Director for two restaurants, both owned and operated by local franchised Operator Michael Hancock.

Now, more than eight years later, Carolina applies the lessons she learned in her time as a Team Member to the classroom as a fifth-grade teacher.

“I could go on and on about everything my local Chick-fil-A restaurant experience taught me,” she said. “But if I had to choose just three lessons, they would be leadership, communication and teamwork. I use each of them every day with my students and fellow educators at school.”

Carolina was recently accepted into a Master of Educational Administration program and hopes to one day be a principal, helping to lead and inspire fellow teachers and students.

“Without my experience as a Chick-fil-A restaurant Team Member, I couldn’t have gotten to where I am now,” she added. “I am so grateful for the people I met and how I’ve been able to apply what I learned in my new career path today.”
