Restaurant to Bring More Than 100 Full- and Part-Time Jobs to Community

ALEXANDER CITY, Ala. (Nov. 15, 2021) – A new Chick-fil-A restaurant is slated to open for business in Alexander City on Thursday, Nov. 18. Chick-fil-A, Inc. has selected Lois Ann Murphree as the independent franchised Owner/Operator of Chick-fil-A Alexander City. Murphree will be responsible for all day-to-day activities of the business, including employing more than 100 full- and part-time Team Members, cultivating relationships with local organizations and neighboring businesses, and serving guests. Chick-fil-A Alexander City is located at 3899 Hwy 280, near the intersection of U.S. Hwy 280 and Lee Street, and will be open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday.

Chick-fil-A remains committed to serving guests safely. Chick-fil-A Alexander City will open for dine-in, drive-thru, mobile ordering and carry-out service, with third-party delivery available shortly after the opening. In place of the traditional Chick-fil-A First 100® Grand Opening celebration, Chick-fil-A Alexander City will be surprising 100 local heroes making an impact in the Alexander City area with free Chick-fil-A for a year. Additionally, in honor of the new restaurant opening, Chick-fil-A will donate $25,000 to Feeding America. The funds will be distributed to partners within the greater Alexander City area to aid in the fight against hunger.

Locally Owned and Operated

Chick-fil-A Alexander City is locally owned and operated by Lois Ann Murphree. An Alabama native, Murphree graduated from Auburn University with a Bachelor of Science and Master’s of Communication. After a 17-year career with cheerleading and dance team apparel company Varsity Spirit, where she most recently served as National Sales Director of its fashion division, Murphree set her sights on becoming a Chick-fil-A restaurant Operator.

In 2020, she started working closely with her mentor, Operator Rick Michaels, at Chick-fil-A Pelican Plaza in Sarasota, Fla., to learn the ins and outs of the restaurant business. In 2021 she was selected to be the Operator of Chick-fil-A Alexander City. Alongside her husband, Micah, and their three boys, Murphree is excited to open Chick-fil-Alexandar City and serve the community with great food and genuine hospitality.
