Restaurant to Bring Approximately 150 Full- and Part-Time Jobs to Community

In place of the traditional Chick-fil-A First 100® Grand Opening celebration, Chick-fil-A Buckland Hills will be surprising 100 local heroes making an impact in Manchester with free Chick-fil-A for a year. Additionally, in honor of the new restaurant opening, Chick-fil-A will donate $25,000 to Feeding America. The funds will be distributed to partners within the greater Hartford area to aid in the fight against hunger.
Locally Owned and Operated
Alex Ottaway’s first memories of Chick-fil-A are shared meals and quality time spent with family during weekly visits to Chick-fil-A as a kid. These special moments stuck with him as he grew up, igniting his journey to become a Chick-fil-A Operator. Ottaway started his career with Chick-fil-A as a Team Member, working in Chick-fil-A restaurants throughout high school and college, and was even awarded a $1,000 Chick-fil-A scholarship to help achieve his educational aspirations. From 2010-2014, Ottaway served as a police officer in Wilmington, N.C., where he discovered a passion for helping his community. He later returned to Chick-fil-A to continue serving others as part of the company’s Leadership Development Program, where he spent three years traveling the country opening Chick-fil-A restaurants and building his business and leadership skills.
After ten years of learning the ins and outs of the business, Ottaway is thrilled to start this new chapter as Operator of Chick-fil-A Buckland Hills and looks forward to serving great food to the Manchester area while developing the young leaders on his team
