Restaurant to Bring Approximately 70 Full- and Part-Time Jobs to Community
ARLINGTON, Va. (March 8, 2021) – Chick-fil-A Pentagon City, located in the developing tech hub and just steps from The Pentagon, is slated to open for business on Thursday, March 11. Chick-fil-A, Inc. has selected George G. Demetriades, Jr. as the independent franchised Owner/Operator of this new Chick-fil-A® restaurant in Arlington. Demetriades will be responsible for all day-to-day activities of the business, including employing approximately 70 full- and part-time Team Members, cultivating relationships with local organizations and neighboring businesses, and serving guests. Chick-fil-A Pentagon City is located at 710 12th St. S and will be open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., Monday through Saturday.
At Chick-fil-A, safe service is our first priority. Chick-fil-A Pentagon City will open its dining room at 25% capacity and via mobile curbside pickup, with Team Member delivery service available shortly after the opening. In place of the traditional Chick-fil-A First 100® Grand Opening celebration, Chick-fil-A Pentagon City will be surprising 100 local heroes making an impact in Arlington with free Chick-fil-A for a year. Additionally, in honor of the new restaurant opening, Chick-fil-A will donate $25,000 to Feeding America. The funds will be distributed to partners within the greater Arlington area to aid in the fight against hunger.
Locally Owned and Operated
Chick-fil-A has been a large part of George G. Demetriades, Jr.’s life, even years before he opened his first Chick-fil-A restaurant. While applying to become a Chick-fil-A Operator, he discovered that Truett Cathy purchased equipment for the Dwarf House from his uncle’s restaurant, with whom Demetriades visited every Sunday for dinner while growing up.
Demetriades has been the Operator of Chick-fil-A Crystal City since 2015, a restaurant that he’ll continue to operate alongside Chick-fil-A Pentagon City.
A U.S. Army veteran, he boasts extensive experience in the defense industry and has always been passionate about serving his community. In his free time, Demetriades enjoys running, hiking, cooking and traveling with his canine companion, Troop.
