Restaurants Each Slated to Hire Approximately 100 Full- and Part-Time Team Members
LAS VEGAS (Nov. 28, 2016) – Chick-fil-A, Inc. has selected the local franchise owners of the first two Chick-fil-A restaurants in Nevada. Slated to open their restaurants for business on January 26, the local franchise owners will oversee day-to-day activities of the businesses, employing more than 100 full- and part-time team members at each location, cultivating relationships with local schools, organizations and neighboring businesses, and serving guests. Both locations are now hiring for full- and part-time team member positions.
Our Franchisees
Dan Mullins, Local Franchise Owner of Chick-fil-A at Stephanie and Warm Springs, Henderson, Nev.
Dan Mullins, born in Pound, Virginia and raised in Salt Lake City, is relocating to Henderson with his wife, Michelle, and two children to open one of Nevada’s first Chick-fil-A restaurants. Named Chick-fil-A at Stephanie and Warm Springs, the restaurant will be located at 460 N. Stephanie St.
A graduate of the University of Utah, Mullins was originally on the career path to become the district manager of a large retailer in the Salt Lake City area. He always felt like Chick-fil-A was something special, but it wasn’t until the retail store he managed shared a parking lot with the restaurant that he decided to pursue a career with the company. He began to visit that Chick-fil-A frequently, sometimes for three meals a day, and became close friends with the franchise owner who encouraged Mullins to become an owner himself. Mullins became the franchise owner of the Chick-fil-A in Murray, Utah in 2012. While he and his family have loved their time in Murray, they are excited for the opportunity to serve new guests in Henderson.
“I always felt at home and like family when I walked in the door at Chick-fil-A, and I knew that was something I had to be a part of,” Mullins says. “My family and I are excited to serve the people of Henderson and become their home away from home.”
Dave Taplin, Local Franchise Owner of Chick-fil-A at Eastern and Ione, Henderson, Nev.
Dave Taplin, a Denver native, credits his wife, Dana, with introducing him to Chick-fil-A. In fact, Chick-fil-A served as the setting of many of their first dates and has been a mainstay in their relationship ever since. The pair and their four children are relocating to Henderson to open one of the first Chick-fil-A restaurants in Nevada, the Chick-fil-A at Eastern and Ione, which will be located at 9925 S. Eastern Ave.
With a passion for fitness, Taplin graduated from Metropolitan State University in Denver with a degree in exercise science. He worked as a personal trainer for years before taking a leap of faith to pursue his dream job of being a Chick-fil-A franchise owner. Taplin started with the company as an hourly team member and then traveled the country as an Interim Manager before becoming the owner of his own Chick-fil-A in Superstition Springs Mall in Mesa, Ariz. in 2013. Tremendously engaged in the Mesa community, he and his family are looking forward to becoming just as involved in the Las Vegas area.
“We are thrilled to call Henderson our new home,” Taplin says. “Dana and I are beyond excited for the opportunity to open one of the first Chick-fil-A restaurants in Nevada and raise our family in such a terrific community. We look forward to introducing Chick-fil-A to our neighbors and to serving our customers great food with remarkable hospitality.”
Our People
Each of the restaurants will employ approximately 100 full- and part-time team members. To help its team members pay for college, the restaurants will offer the opportunity for college scholarships through Chick-fil-A’s newly announced national scholarship initiative, Remarkable Futures. Remarkable Futures more than doubles the company’s investment in team members’ college educations – providing $4.9 million in scholarships in 2017 alone. While Chick-fil-A has offered scholarships for more than 40 years, the enhanced initiative increases the amount of funding per recipient, allowing students to receive up to $25,000 in scholarships to be applied at any accredited institution of their choice, including online and on-campus formats, and can be combined with tuition discounts and other benefits at more than 70 partner colleges and universities nationwide. As with all Chick-fil-A restaurants, team members are also guaranteed Sundays off. Those interested in joining the Chick-fil-A team can apply by visiting the hiring trailers at each restaurant site. For more information on Remarkable Futures, visit chick-fil-a.com/scholarships.
Our Food
Nearly everything on the Chick-fil-A menu is made from scratch daily, including salads made from fresh vegetables and fruits that are hand-chopped throughout the day. The lemonade is made from three simple ingredients: lemon, sugar and water. Like all Chick-fil-A restaurants, the chicken served in Las Vegas and Henderson will be 100 percent whole breast meat, without any fillers, hormones or additives. Each chicken breast is hand-breaded to order and pressure cooked in 100 percent refined peanut oil, which is naturally trans-fat- and cholesterol-free. By the end of 2019, every Chick-fil-A restaurant will serve chicken raised without antibiotics.
