Restaurant to Bring Approximately 120 Full- and Part-Time Jobs to Community

LINDALE, Texas (Jan. 21, 2021) – Chick-fil-A® Lindale/North Tyler, located at the intersection of U.S. Highway 69 N. and I-20 Frontrage Road, is slated to open for business on Tuesday, Jan. 26. Chick-fil-A, Inc. has selected Joshua Johnson as the independent franchised Owner and Operator of this new Chick-fil-A restaurant in the Lindale and North Tyler area. Johnson will be responsible for all day-to-day activities of the business, including employing approximately 120 full- and part-time Team Members, cultivating relationships with local organizations and neighboring businesses, and serving Guests. Chick-fil-A Lindale/North Tyler is located at 13816 U.S. Highway 69, and will be open from 6:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday.

At Chick-fil-A, safe service is our first priority. New Chick-fil-A restaurants will take additional time to review operations and make sure appropriate precautions are in place before opening their dining rooms, to ensure the safety of Guests and Team Members. Currently, Chick-fil-A Lindale/North Tyler will open for drive-thru and carry-out only. In place of the traditional Chick-fil-A First 100® Grand Opening celebration, Chick-fil-A Lindale/North Tyler will be surprising 100 local heroes making an impact in the Lindale and North Tyler area with free Chick-fil-A for a year. Additionally, the Chick-fil-A Foundation has partnered with Feeding America to donate $25,000 to a local food bank for every new restaurant opening. To aid in the fight against hunger, this donation will go toward organizations in Lindale and North Tyler that are doing good work to care for others.

Joshua Johnson has been named the franchised Operator of the new Chick-fil-A restaurant in Lindale, Texas. A native of Tyler, Texas, Johnson grew up going to Chick-fil-A and lived only a few minutes away from where the new Chick-fil-A Lindale/North Tyler restaurant is located. Growing up, he formed a strong appreciation for the brand and eventually was hired as a Team Member at Chick-fil-A Broadway Square Mall when he was 16 years old. While serving the Tyler community, Johnson was awarded a Remarkable Futures Scholarship from Chick-fil-A, Inc., which honors Team Members who demonstrate leadership skills and a remarkable commitment to their communities and education. Using his scholarship, Johnson earned his bachelor’s degree in Computer and Electrical Engineering from Baylor University in 2003 and an MBA from the University of Texas at Tyler in 2010. He kept his ties to Chick-fil-A during college, working as a Team Member at Chick-fil-A Franklin Avenue in Waco, Texas. Through his hard work and continued dedication to the company, Johnson worked his way up and became the Operator of his first Restaurant, Chick-fil-A South Park Mall in San Antonio, Texas in March 2005. After two years, Johnson brought his career full circle and returned home to Tyler to become the Operator of Chick-fil-A Broadway Mall, where he first started as a Team Member. After serving in that role for 14 years, Johnson is looking forward to opening the new Chick-fil -A Lindale location developing relationships in the local community.

Johnson and his wife Jill met while working as Team Members at Chick-fil-A Broadway Square Mall and have four beautiful children. Johnson is very active in the Lindale/North Tyler community and strives to embody Chick-fil-A's commitment to making a positive impact in the local communities where its restaurants are located. Johnson serves as the president of Leadership Tyler, an organization focused on equipping local leaders with the necessary tools to ehance the community, and is president-elect of a STEM-based children's science museum called the Discovery Science Place. He also serves as a board member of the East Texas Youth Orchestra, an organization that uses performing arts to educate its participants and enrich its community.

“My wife and I, along with our four young sons, are excited to have the opportunity to serve Lindale, North Tyler and the surrounding communities,” said Johnson.“Chick-fil-A Lindale/North Tyler will be the only Chick-fil-A in the area for over 20 miles, and we are eager to begin serving our Guests, friends and family great-tasting food in a safe and welcoming environment.”
