Restaurant Brings Approximately 100 Full- and Part-Time Jobs to Community, Honors 100 Local Heroes With Free Chick-fil-A Meals for a Year

MILPITAS, Calif. (June 13, 2022) – A new Chick-fil-A® restaurant will begin serving the Milpitas community on Thursday, June 16. Chick-fil-A, Inc. has selected Chris Johnson as the independent franchised Owner/Operator of Chick-fil-A Milpitas Town Center.

Located at 755 E Calaveras Blvd in Milpitas, CA, Chick-fil-A Milpitas Town Center will be open for dine in, drive-thru and carry out from 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., Monday through Saturday. Guests of Chick-fil-A Milpitas Town Center can place an order for pickup, dine-in or delivery on the Chick-fil-A® App or online. The Milpitas Town Center restaurant joins 18 other Chick-fil-A restaurants serving the wider San Francisco – Oakland – San Jose market.

Locally Owned and Operated

As full-time, hands-on leaders in their restaurants and communities, Chick-fil-A Owner/Operators reside in the areas in which they serve.

In Milpitas, Johnson will be responsible for all day-to-day activities of the business, including employing approximately 100 full- and part-time Team Members, serving guests and cultivating relationships with local organizations and businesses.

Hailing from Seattle, Johnson attended Stanford University where he played on the football team and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Economics. After several years as a commercial real estate broker in the Bay Area, he moved to the East Coast and entered the restaurant industry, where he owned multiple restaurants for nearly a decade. Still passionate about serving others but ready for a new opportunity, Johnson began working at a Chick-fil-A restaurant in Atlanta where he quickly grew a deep respect for the culture of care.

“I am grateful to be back in California, where I look forward to sharing our great-tasting food and signature hospitality with the Milpitas community,” said Johnson. “Sports have been integral in my upbringing, and I believe we can accomplish great things when working as a team. I hope to provide our Team Members with professional development opportunities where they can grow both in and outside of the restaurant and show care to our guests and our community.”

Outside of the restaurant, Johnson is a world-class triathlete and board member for a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of people with disabilities through sports. At the organization, Johnson acts not only as a board member, but also an athlete, volunteer and leader.

Caring for the Milpitas Community

In honor of the opening, Chick-fil-A, Inc. will donate $25,000 to Feeding America on behalf of the new restaurant. These funds will be distributed to partners in the greater San Jose area to aid in the fight against hunger. Chick-fil-A Milpitas Town Center is also recognizing 100 local heroes making an impact in the Milpitas area by providing them with free Chick-fil-A meals for a year.

Johnson’s restaurant will be participating in Chick-fil-A Shared Table™, an initiative that redirects surplus food from the restaurant to local soup kitchens, shelters, food banks and nonprofits to serve those in need. When there is surplus food, Chick-fil-A Milpitas Town Center will donate it to a local community partner.
