Restaurant Brings Approximately 150 Full- and Part-Time Jobs to Community, Honors 100 Local Heroes With Free Chick-fil-A Meals for a Year

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio (Nov. 28, 2022) – A new Chick-fil-A® restaurant will begin serving the Springfield community on Thursday, 2022, Dec. 1 Chick-fil-A, Inc. has selected Cris Lopez as the independent franchised Owner/Operator of Chick-fil-A Springfield.

Located at 1740 N Bechtle Ave., near the Bechtle Crossing Shopping Mall, Chick-fil-A Springfield will be open for dine-in, drive-thru and carry-out from 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., Monday through Saturday. Guests of Chick-fil-A Springfield can place an order for pickup or dine-in on the Chick-fil-A® App or online. When joining the Chick-fil-A One® tiered membership program, guests receive points on every qualifying purchase, which can be used to redeem available rewards. Third-party delivery will be made available shortly after the opening. The Springfield restaurant joins 10 other Chick-fil-A restaurants serving the wider Dayton market.

Locally Owned and Operated

As full-time, hands-on leaders in their restaurants and communities, Chick-fil-A Owner/Operators proudly reside in the communities in which they serve.

In Springfield, Cris Lopez will be responsible for all day-to-day activities of the business, including employing approximately 150 full- and part-time Team Members, serving guests and cultivating relationships with local organizations and businesses.

Lopez began his Chick-fil-A journey in 2012, bringing a decade of experience with him to Springfield. The Mexico City native began his career as a Chick-fil-A Team Member in Dawsonville, Georgia, and later advanced to serve as the restaurant’s senior head of Operations under the encouragement and guidance of Operator Tony Kellar. In 2019, Lopez graduated from the University of North Georgia with a degree in business management and joined the Chick-fil-A® Leadership Development Program. Over the course of two years, Lopez supported over 13 restaurant openings, including the restaurant company’s first two restaurants in Puerto Rico. He is excited to continue his Chick-fil-A journey as the Operator of Chick-fil-A Springfield alongside his wife, Becca. They fell in love with the Midwest while supporting several restaurant openings and look forward to growing the Chick-fil-A brand with new and existing guests in Springfield.

Caring for the Community

In honor of the opening, Chick-fil-A, Inc. will donate $25,000 to Feeding America on behalf of the new restaurant. These funds will be distributed to partners in the greater Dayton area to aid in the fight against hunger.

In addition, Chick-fil-A Springfield is recognizing 100 local heroes making an impact in the Springfield area by providing them with free Chick-fil-A meals for a year.

The restaurant will also be participating in the Chick-fil-A Shared Table™ Program, an initiative that redirects surplus food from the restaurant to local soup kitchens, shelters, food banks and nonprofits in need.
