ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. (March 18, 2021) – Chick-fil-A SR 16 & Inman Road, located near the intersection of Charles Usinas Memorial Highway and Inman Road, is slated to open for business on Tuesday, March 23. Chick-fil-A, Inc. has selected Wayne Efford as the independent franchised Owner/Operator of this new Chick-fil-A® restaurant in St. Augustine. Efford will be responsible for all day-to-day activities of the business, including employing approximately 140 full- and part-time Team Members, cultivating relationships with local organizations and neighboring businesses, and serving guests. Chick-fil-A SR 16 & Inman Road is located at 2244 State Road 16, and will be open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., Monday through Saturday.
At Chick-fil-A, safe service is our first priority. Chick-fil-A SR 16 & Inman Road will open for drive-thru and mobile curbside service, with third-party delivery available shortly after the opening. In place of the traditional Chick-fil-A First 100® Grand Opening celebration, Chick-fil-A St. Augustine will be surprising 100 local heroes making an impact in St. Augustine with free Chick-fil-A for a year. Additionally, in honor of the new restaurant opening, Chick-fil-A will donate $25,000 to Feeding America. The funds will be distributed to partners within the greater St. Augustine area to aid in the fight against hunger.
Locally Owned and Operated
Chick-fil-A SR 16 & Inman Road is locally owned and operated by veteran Wayne Efford, who has served the greater St. Johns County area since 2002 as the franchised Operator of Chick-fil-A St. Augustine. In addition to operating Chick-fil-A SR 16 & Inman Road, Efford will continue serving the community as the Operator of Chick-fil-A St. Augustine.
Upon Efford’s first experience at a Chick-fil-A restaurant in Jacksonville, Fla., he was immediately inspired by the restaurant’s great-tasting food and genuine hospitality and embarked on what is now a 19-year career with Chick-fil-A. After being selected to become the Operator of his first Chick-fil-A restaurant, Efford relocated to St. Augustine with his wife, a fellow military veteran, and their two daughters. Since then, Chick-fil-A has become an integral part of Efford’s family, with his brother and niece serving as Chick-fil-A Operators, and Efford’s daughter working at Chick-fil-A’s corporate headquarters in Atlanta.
Prior to his journey with Chick-fil-A, Efford graduated from the University of Baltimore with a bachelor’s degree in accounting and worked as a certified public accountant and is a retired military officer. With his extensive background in finance and leadership, Efford is excited to continue his career with Chick-fil-A and make a positive impact on the St. Augustine community through both restaurants.
