Restaurant to Bring Approximately 200 Full- and Part-Time Jobs to Community

WALKER, Mich. (Oct. 11, 2021) – A new Chick-fil-A® restaurant is slated to open for business in Walker on Thursday, Oct. 14. Chick-fil-A, Inc. has selected Tim Hiller as the independent franchised Owner/Operator of Chick-fil-A Walker. Hiller will be responsible for all day-to-day activities of the business, including employing approximately 200 full- and part-time Team Members, cultivating relationships with local organizations and neighboring businesses, and serving guests. Chick-fil-A Walker is located at 356 Wilson Ave. NW, at the intersection of Wilson Avenue NW and Lake Michigan Drive, and will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., Monday through Saturday.

Chick-fil-A remains committed to serving guests safely. Chick-fil-A Walker will open for drive-thru, carry out and patio dining. In place of the traditional Chick-fil-A First 100® Grand Opening celebration, Chick-fil-A Walker will be surprising 100 local heroes making an impact in Walker with free Chick-fil-A for a year. Additionally, in honor of the new restaurant opening, Chick-fil-A will donate $25,000 to Feeding America. The funds will be distributed to partners within the greater Grand Rapids area to aid in the fight against hunger.

Locally Owned and Operated

Chick-fil-A Walker Operator Tim Hiller has lived in West Michigan for nearly two decades with his wife and their two children. Hiller first experienced Chick-fil-A as a guest while attending Western Michigan University, where he earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees and played football for the Western Michigan Broncos. After graduating, Hiller went on to play for the Indianapolis Colts as a quarterback. Hiller then drew on his football experience to serve as the head football coach at Gull Lake High School in Richland, Mich., where he developed a passion for mentoring others and giving back to the community. Now, as the Operator of Chick-fil-A Walker, Hiller looks forward to continuing his service to others and welcoming neighbors and guests with delicious food and Chick-fil-A’s signature hospitality.
