Locally Owned and Operated

Chick-fil-A Cahaba Heights is locally owned and operated by Jerry Cotney. An Alabama native, Cotney grew up in Roanoke, Ala., and earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration from Birmingham Southern College. After graduating, Cotney worked in the nonprofit and corporate real estate industries, where he developed his business and leadership skills. Seeking to make a career shift, in 2010 Cotney applied to become a restaurant Team Member with the dream of one day owning and operating a Chick-fil-A restaurant. He spent the next several years learning the ins and outs of the Chick-fil-A business in the restaurant setting and at Chick-fil-A’s headquarters in Atlanta, Ga. In 2016, Cotney’s dream became a reality when he was selected to become the local Operator of Chick-fil-A Brookwood Village Mall and eventually Chick-fil-A Samford University. After five years of serving the Birmingham community, Cotney looks forward to making a positive impact on the community as the Operator of Chick-fil-A Cahaba Heights, while continuing to operate the location at Samford University.

“I am humbled by the opportunity to continue my service to the community through Chick-fil-A Cahaba Heights,” said Cotney. “With the opening of this restaurant, I am excited to mentor my Team Members and build a team focused on caring for our guests, serving them great-tasting food with Chick-fil-A’s signature hospitality.”
