LOS ANGELES (May 13, 2021) – Atlanta-based Chick-fil-A® Inc. is excited to announce expansion plans in the Los Angeles and Inland Empire areas with five new restaurants, starting Thursday, May 20 with the opening of Chick-fil-A Imperial & Lakewood in Downey. This summer, the company will open four additional locations: Chick-fil-A 405 & Avalon (Carson), Chick-fil-A Bear Valley Rd. & Mariposa (Victorville), Chick-fil-A Crenshaw & Amsler (Torrance) and Chick-fil-A I-10 & Yucaipa Blvd (Yucaipa). In total, these restaurants will create more than 500 full and part-time job opportunities in the Los Angeles and Inland Empire areas, confirming more than 280 Chick-fil-A locations in the state of California.
“Los Angeles is known for its beautiful weather, passionate residents and fantastic food, and we’re excited to build upon the incredible momentum we’ve experienced so far in the market,” said Josiah Borg, the independent franchised Owner/Operator of Chick-fil-A Imperial & Lakewood. “We look forward to welcoming guests from all over the area to enjoy our delicious food and signature hospitality.”
Since opening its first Los Angeles location at USC in 2010, Chick-fil-A has opened more than 50 restaurants in the area. In 2018, Chick-fil-A 7th & Fig, Chick-fil-A’s first downtown location, opened under ownership of one of the youngest Operators in the company’s history. In the last three years, Chick-fil-A restaurants in the Los Angeles area have donated nearly 340,000 pounds of food through Shared Table and awarded $1,507,500 in college scholarships to 594 deserving Team Members.
Locally Owned and Operated
Every Chick-fil-A restaurant is a locally owned and operated small business. Chick-fil-A franchise owners live and work in the community in which their restaurants are located and are highly involved in the day-to-day operations at the restaurant. Seeking to become highly involved in their local communities, the franchise owners frequently partner with and support local schools and organizations. Historically, Los Angeles Chick-fil-A restaurants have partnered with Children’s Hospital of Orange County (CHOC), among other organizations.
Team Member Investment
Chick-fil-A franchised Operators are committed to hiring, developing and retaining top talent, and providing a positive work environment for people of all ages and backgrounds. They also offer their Team Members opportunities for flexible work hours and leadership growth, competitive pay and benefits, hands-on training and mentoring, and the chance to apply for scholarships to support their continuing education. Earlier this year, Chick-fil-A awarded $897,500 to 359 deserving restaurant Team Members in California.
