In 1985 – one year before the first stand-alone Chick-fil-A restaurant was built in Atlanta – the Chick-fil-A Chicken Biscuit made its debut. The arrival was part of a plan to, “offer the delicious taste of Chick-fil-A chicken throughout the day instead just lunch and dinner” with a distinctive Southern twist, said Shona Jonson, a senior manager on Chick-fil-A’s menu team.
Our guests loved a wide variety of menu offerings this year, from nuggets to hash browns to innovative menu additions.
On one summer weekend in 1945, 18-year-old Edmund Rusinek and his buddies left their army training camp in Little Rock, Arkansas in search of a hearty, Southern meal. As the young draftees sat in a booth enjoying their break from GI food, they were approached by an elderly gentleman who asked if they could do him a favor and let him buy their meals. When the men asked how they could repay him, the gentleman responded, “The only way to thank me is to pass it on.”
Breakfast. The most important meal of the day, right? It’s also the one you’re least likely to plan ahead and most likely to eat in the car – or with one hand while the other hand holds a briefcase and/or a child. Despite everyone’s best efforts, it’s easy to get off track in the morning when you’re watching the calories.
