By all accounts for everyone involved, March 12 had all the makings of a seemingly normal day. For Ed Kosiec, the morning had begun with a nine-mile run followed by some yoga, as he was training for his fourth marathon. After a successful inaugural fundraiser in 2017, the 26 New York-area Chick-fil-A® Restaurants in New York City, Southern Connecticut, Long Island, Northern New Jersey and Jersey Shore will host a second annual Lemonade Fundraiser on Friday, Sept. 14 in support of Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation. Last year, this initiative raised more than $28,000, an amount that the company is hopeful to exceed in 2018 with the help of local communities. Once again, the restaurants will donate 100 percent of regular lemonade sales during the event to the nonprofit, a national foundation dedicated to raising funds and awareness for childhood cancer.

It’s the last Friday of the semester for Teresa Goc, a junior at Mount Aloysius College in Pennsylvania. After a long week filled with studying for and taking final exams, summer is quickly approaching.
Three years ago, Thecla Scott was rocking out inside her Chick-fil-A restaurant in Jefferson, Louisiana. It was her first Cow Appreciation Day as a restaurant Team Member, and she had agreed to play the role of DJ. “That was my favorite Cow Appreciation Day,” she remembers. “Thankfully, the guests loved my music!”
If you think about it, there’s never really a bad time to eat Chick-fil-A. Seriously, it’s perfect any time of day for breakfast, lunch, dinner or even a snack in-between meals! Truett Cathy surprised everyone in 1964 by putting fried chicken on a buttered bun when everyone else was making burgers. Three years later he surprised them again by putting his first Chick-fil-A restaurant in a shopping mall.
It was 1965 when Truett Cathy came home with his restaurant’s latest menu offering: a piece of fried chicken breast tucked between two buttered buns. His son, Dan Cathy, remembers the moment well as a 12-year-old boy. Though he didn’t realize it at the time, his father’s new sandwich would change not only Dan’s life but the trajectory of his family’s business and the fast-food industry as a whole.
