Meet Restaurant Operator
Matthew Baals
Meet our Owner/Operator, Matthew Baals and his family! Matthew is a local, and grew up down the shore at LBI and now loves to share all his favorite spots with his wife, Brenda and his two daughters. He is excited to be in the Manahawkin community and to work alongside with his team to provide their guests a remarkable experience.
Matt has a business and entrepreneurial background and founded and owned a real estate investment group specializing in residential sales, residential and commercial investment portfolios and rehabs. He has a degree in Business Administration and grew a successful business and team by applying strategic efforts year after year. In addition to his background in business, he also has a heart for people and serving others. He has a Master’s degree in Counseling and served as a School Counselor serving elementary students here in South Jersey. He is involved in his community and church and spent 12 years volunteering with his local fire department as a firefighter/EMT. Matt has a heart for the community and loves to develop and train others in servant leadership, entrepreneurship, hospitality and caring for others. His passion for the restaurant is for it to be a greater means for him to Care, Inspire and Impact our community.
Growing up with 3 brothers, it was the dinner table where everyone came together and connected about their day, shared what they were excited about and discussed what was upcoming as a family. We know the typical family schedule and just how challenging it can be to have that time available together, but we would certainly love to help! We can do that by making sure that while you are with us in our dining room, curbside takeout or going through our Drive Thru that you know you are getting ReMarkable food from a place that values and appreciates you as a guest.
We want you spending time connecting together, which is why our goals as a restaurant is always to strive to offer:
1. A Clean & Safe Environment, including Team Member hygiene and restaurant cleanliness;

Our Community
At Chick-fil-A Manahawkin, we’re committed to strengthening the towns and neighborhoods we serve. One way we do this is through the Chick-fil-A Shared Table® program, which helps fight hunger in our local communities by donating surplus food from our Restaurant to Ocean Community Church Food Bank to help feed those in need. Another way we serve our community is through our Chick-fil-A True Inspiration Awards® program, which awards millions of dollars in grants to dozens of organizations throughout the U.S. and Canada each year. We love granting money for scholarships and helping our team members develop as individuals and professionals. We also encourage our customers and local community members to apply for the Chick-fil-A Community Scholars® program, which supports leaders of all ages who want to continue learning.
Here are a few other ways we care for our local communities:
- We sponsor Character Education Programs in our Schools and offer our Chick-fil-A Leader Academy®—a national high school leadership program focused on impact through action—and are excited to continue to partner with schools in our area.
- Our Team Members are regularly encouraged to volunteer at non-profits throughout Stafford Township and we see the big impact this has on them.
- We recycle the used cooking oil from our Restaurant, which is collected and converted into clean-burning renewable fuel.
-We engage in composting and recycling programs in our Restaurant to show care for our planet.
- We are locally Owned and Operated by Matthew Baals, who grew up on our beaches and has a heart to serve our Community!
- Additionally, we’re honored to support charities that impact our youth, our schools and athletics and causes that combat hunger and homelessness in our area.
